‘Your Move’ is the new release from Nottingham-based duo Rattle. Their music is expansive, experimental and hypnotic. Over the course of more than fifteen minutes, the track moves through a variety of textures and feels, continuing the pair’s established experiments with rhythm, metre and tension. Their unique double-drumming sound keeps the track rooted in its mesmeric, almost tribal flow, with colourful vocals exploring various melodies above. “The images in my head for the first half of ‘Your Move’ were water - reflecting in pools, and flowing” explains Katharine Aira Brown. “Then the second half is like it is stuck in an endless slow-moving cycle. The bit in-between is the flitting in-between, we wanted it to feel like a CD getting stuck.” ‘Your Move’ is lifted from their upcoming album, Encircle. -Dan Peeke
